Cipollino Rosso

Cipollino takes its name from the Italian for onion, after the way its layers wrap and fold like onion skin. In the rosso variety those layers run through red, rust, cream and pale grey, rippling across the slab in wavy parallel bands. The pattern is directional and strongly rhythmic, so it is worth planning slab orientation carefully.
